Principal, Founder

Before founding Strategic Wealth Advisors in December 1998, Laurie served as a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at JPMorgan, specializing in investing for high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.


Prior to banking, Laurie was in public accounting where she provided tax, estate, and financial planning to high net worth individuals, corporate executives and wealthy families. Laurie graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has completed various NASD licenses.

Laurie is a member of the Phoenix CFA Society, the CFA Institute and the Current Tax Discussion Group. An expert in her field, she is often quoted in local and national publications including the Arizona Republic and Worth magazine. She was a regular columnist with the CITY Sun Times and has served as a featured panelist at local conferences, including the Arizona Republic’s Investment Strategies Forum.

Locally, Laurie was selected as one of the "Forty Under Forty", an award given to up and coming professionals by the Phoenix Business Journal in conjunction with the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she was selected by BizAZ as one of the Top Young Entrepreneurs in Phoenix.

Nationally, she was selected six times as one of "The Nation’s Top Wealth Advisors" by Worth Magazine, twice as one of the "50 Distinguished Women in Wealth Management" by Wealth Manager Magazine and in 2016 she was selected for the "Women in Wealth Awards" from Wealth & Finance Magazine.

Laurie is passionate about financial literacy and enjoys providing financial education to youth and young adults. She also dedicates time to various community organizations and frequently provides pro-bono financial services and education to individuals and organizations in need.  She previously led her daughters' Girl Scout troop for nine years and stays in touch with troop members and their families.

When she is not busy with SWA, her two teens and young adult college aged "child", she can be found cheering on the Fighting Irish for the University of Notre Dame, traveling, hiking and engaging in bible study.
